7 Deadly Miles and some Updates!

Ok so they weren't really deadly... otherwise you wouldn't be reading this. It was a little on the warm side, but I enjoyed the sun and I was proud of finishing all 7 miles and at a decent time too.

Last October I was training for a half marathon (before it got cancelled) and the last long run before I stopped training was the 7 mile run. And it SUCKED I ended up walking two miles of it because my abdomen was in so much pain. Today I promised myself I would run the whole 7, even if it killed me. And thankfully it didn't! I was able to average 9:40/mile and I felt pretty good when it was all said and done!

*Note: I'm sure some of you could care less about me running, my times etc. But for me to post them is really motivational. I can see what I've done and look for ways to get better. It also makes me feel somewhat accountable to the people that read this, that yes, I am running, and yes, I will accomplish this goal!

Ok, onto the updates.

 1. JONATHAN HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!! YEE HAW!  Yes, I did feel the need to write that all in caps, because I am that excited about it, and I'm so stinkin' proud of him!  He will be starting at Denver Seminary for his Masters in Divinity with an emphasis in Theology in January 2011. I haven't heard back from them yet as my paperwork wasn't received right away, so we are still waiting on that news.

2. I have issues with sugar. No, seriously, I do. I love it, love sugar, love it, love it, love it. As does Jon... but he doesn't think there is anything wrong with that. I on the other hand, do. I've been reading a lot lately about how much sugar (extra added sugar, not those in fruit or other food) we should really be consuming and how much more I do. It also can really affect your energy levels, and so for this reason I am giving up added sugar for the next two weeks. That's right, no candy, cookies, ice cream etc. for two weeks. For some of you this might be extremely easy, for me it'll be like torture, except I would give up the information if I could.  I do however reserve the right to add a sprinkle of brown sugar in my steel cut oats in the morning, because it just wouldn't be right without it. So there you go, one more thing to keep me accountable on.

3. The cherry blossoms are here! Or at least they are starting to bloom, and this makes Korea absolutely GORGEOUS this time of year. I love it! So I'll leave you with a little Cherry Blossom happiness :)
