It's official

... I'm a 90 year old...

I have officially begun to use things like this...

My hands are questioning why I'm making them do things like this...

See, the visitors arrived and the knitting began. I truly didn't even have a chance. And before I knew it I was here,

Sitting on the couch getting sucked into their needles, cotton, and washcloth making ways.

But then I made this, and was beyond proud. And just had to keep on, keepin' on.

All of us in our glory.

My mom literally started at the same time I did, she had never knit before... and of course her washcloth was finished in an hour... I on the other hand struggled. My hands rebelled.

But a day later I wound up with this...

Why yes, I am a domestic goddess.

And of course I have now acquired a pair of knitting needles, a ton of yarn, and a new hobby.

Do any of you knit?

I envy knitters. I tried knitting once. Three hours of "pulling the thread too hard" or "not pulling the thread enough". I threw my needles at the wall and cried and cried. And then I said, "whatever! I have my own hobbies!", and then I painted a picture of my feelings.

Sara! I have knitted before, have a bunch of different sized needles, and then last winter, I picked up crocheting. I have since forgotten how to do either, but I think it's relatively easy to pick back up. My winter projects... maybe?? Haha, I loved to do it though and my fingers would be raw from it. I did crochet a few great looking headbands!

I would love to learn! That would be a great MN winter hobby.

Knit? Are you kidding me? I barely remembered to brush my teeth this morning before leaving the house! No time with all these kids! Maybe when school starts. I did try to knit Miia a scarf for Christmas a few years ago. I think she ended up with a DVD instead. I could use those washcloths, so send them this way (my birthday is coming up).

No knitting.

Still crochet on occasion though :)

One of those skills you pick up in 4th grade going to Pillager!
