Mother's Day

Today, like everyone else I celebrate the woman who gave me life, who stayed up late at night with, who held my hair when I was sick, who put up with so many of my (I'm sure always charming) antics, and who has encouraged me and challenged me along the way.

I celebrate the woman who gave me my blue eyes and fair skin, my love for people, and love for God. I celebrate and am so thankful for a woman who has stood by me through many moments where she probably should've just told me how stupid I was and moved on.

My mom is fantastic, I truly could not have been blessed with a better mother.  She has always shown me and my siblings a tremendous amount sacrifice, and never thought twice about. The things she has lived through and faced while raising the four of us as a single parent, have truly made me admire her courage and faith. She is a true woman of God, and I hope I can someday have that same reliance and faith in God.

She is the greatest mother in the world and I'm so blessed to have her as mine!

Today I also celebrate another mother. My fantastic mother-in-law. Patty is a joy to be around. She is always positive, encouraging, and up for anything. She is always willing to help out where needed and she has always made me feel a part of the family.

I've heard so many ridiculous and terrifying mom-in-law stories, and I'm so blessed to say that Patty has never lived up to that sad stereotype. She has always made me feel like I belong and has always tried to make sure I'm comfortable wherever I am. And this included many days of watching America's Next Top Model and What not to wear... all while eating whatever my favorite snack at the time was (she always stocked up on my favorites ) :) Patty is always consciously thinking of others and I so appreciate and admire that about her.

But what I'm most thankful for is that she raised Jonathan. She did a fantastic job raising my husband and I'm forever grateful that she raised such an amazing man :)

Thank you both for being such a wonderful influences in my (our) life! We couldn't have asked for two greater mothers!!! We love you!!!!

I also have to mention all the mothers of my great nieces and nephews. Rebecca, Jess, Jamie, Kelly, and Jessie... your are all such great moms and I'm encouraged by the fantastic example you've set :)
